Its also worth finding out about the airlines lateness statistics. Most airlines publish statistics regarding their timekeeping so be sure to take a look at these. You may find that, although your airline tickets are cheap, the airline is often late.
Another aspect of your proposed airline that would bear investigation is their lost luggage statistics. Does your cheap, budget airline lose more bags than the more expensive carriers? Losing your luggage would be very costly so it may be worth choosing a more reliable airline.
Its also worth considering over-booking. These days, over-booking is becoming increasingly common-place. Passengers turn up for their booked flights, in good faith, only to find their flight over-booked and no seats are left.
As you have probably gathered, determining whether an airline is worth using takes research. The earlier you start and the more you can find out the better informed you will be when it comes to making your choice.
