Train Travel From London To Paris And Vice Versa
If you want to travel across Europe, you need to plan ahead. You probably won’t need to do much thinking if you join a group of travelers or a tour package. A tourist group usually involves a guide who can interpret for you should you need anything.
But if you’re looking for adventure, I suggest ditching the tour group and winging it from start to finish. This might be a tall order if it’s your first time, but it’s relatively easy when you get used to it. Going at it alone means there’s no telling what kind of adventure you’re getting yourself into. On the plus side, winging it may be less expensive than paying for a tour package.
I’m telling you this as a precaution, if you don’t do your research, things could get very expensive, so be warned. The way to become a real veteran in European travel is to find your way around town using a map, your common sense and a lot of luck.
Transportation will eat up most of your budget if you don’t research the cheapest way to get around. You have a lot of choices when it comes to transportation. Believe it or not, this is the most financially draining expense you will have to cope with. You can do this cheaper if you really want to.
First, always consider that there are several ways to reach destinations. You can choose from ferries, trains and buses. Although we all know that Paris is the most attractive tourist spot in the world, it is still possible to scrimp on Eurostar tickets to have more money for eating out and watching old French films.
Off season booking is the way to go. For example, if you’re going to seasonal destinations in France, you can bet that the fare going that way will be a bit more expensive. This means you can get “off season” tickets just by choosing other areas to visit first before figuring out a way to go to the seasonal destination. This way, you can easily see the sights while you take your time with slower means of transport. You can get off the Eurostar somewhere else that will have a cheaper mode of transport.
